First things first. I had begun to dis-assemble my Compaq. It's heavier than this one, and I discovered it to be 'mini-ATX'. (Only 3-4 expansion slots.)br /br /The new board I'd ordered from Amazon to boost my system to quad-core specs was 'full-ATX' (six expansion slots). I hadn't realized my old case was only a 'mini' ATX mid-tower. But the customer photos for the Cooler Master Mid Tower, and the manufacturer pix are great!br /br /Removing the fascia cover to install optical drives is like a dream compared to my Compaq, where it's two piece front cover had to be pried apart all the way around with a flat-blade screw driver. Only then you could access invisible plastic snaps and an alignment lever designed by Satan to prevent the cover from ever being re-installed.br /br /Each of the drive cages, (which are non-removable from the Cooler Master) accepted the drives I installed perfectly, the screw holes all aligned perfectly, BOTH side panels are removable.br /br /I already had an ANTEC case fan on the side:br /br /Antec TriCool 80mm DBB Case Fan with 3-Spd Switch 3/4-Pin 3-Pin Monitoringbr /br /which features it's own speed switch. The Cooler Master case features mounting compatibility for 80mm, 90mm and 120mm fans, all necessary screws and mounting holes pre-fab. And they even throw in one of their own 120mm fans when you purchase their case. So I now have three active case fans.br /br /And it's true some users may want to select 90 degree angled hard drive cables. If you're using an adapter, it might barely fit under only the most optimistic circumstance. Barely 2 inches of girth to plug-in, which is plenty for standard use. br /br /The front cover has ventilation screen around the bottom for the fan mounting which cools the hard drives. (Which is how I applied my 120mm fan) And this cover snaps on and off easily like the covers on JBL stereo speakers. (Snaps are kind of peg-shaped).br /br /Although someone complained about the thin gauge panels, the frame is more than adequate. It survived rough handling by my UPS carriers which punctured the box and made a small dent on the side which faces the wall. It was easy to face it down on a flat piece of wood and relieve the steel to a tiny wrinkle using a flat blade punch and hammer. The fit is aligned perfectly.br /br /Last, all the plug-in pins for the power switch and led display are separate, no need to re-configure the contacts into a used plastic housing to conform to the arrangement of your mother board. This was SO nice.
